At the 1994 Royal Rumble, history was made when both Bret Hart and Lex Luger eliminated each other at the exact same time, causing them to be declared dual winners of the match.

It was all scripted as a way to have them both wrestle Yokozuna for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania X.

Eleven years later, John Cena and Batista perfectly reenacted that moment when Batista went for his finishing move, only to lose his balance and fall backwards over the top rope, taking Cena with him and hitting the ground at the same time.

The only problem is that Cena was the only one who was supposed to go over, leaving Batista the clear winner.

There was immediate, widespread confusion with no one sure what to make of the situation. However, this soon worked itself into one of the most entertaining Royal Rumble finishes of all-time.

One Raw official held up Batista's hand, while a Smackdown referee held up Cena's. This went back and forth a few times, with the crowd popping each time. It escalated into something of a Raw vs. Smackdown showdown, until a visibly pissed off Vince McMahon came storming down to the ring to get things in order.

After sliding into the ring, Vince tried to stand up and read everybody the riot act, but he tore his quad in the process, and had to immediately sit on the mat.

It was from a seated position that he ordered the Rumble be re-started until a clear winner was decided.

Ultimately, Batista won the whole thing, but that's a lot less memorable than the comedy of errors which led to it.
