The story of #DIY on the main roster in the last couple of years has been one of them not being particular over as either heels or babyfaces, and never is this more apparent than when they're on top of the tag division.

This meeting - the fifth between the pairs - came after Tommaso Ciampa and Johny Gargano had used Pretty Deadly to do their bidding with the vague promise of glory and success down the line; Elton Prince and Kit Wilson effectively cashing in on a title shot they'd earned.

This half-baked tale was supposed to get them over the hump as babyfaces and failed miserably, resulting in a match featuring four heels exchanging holds to little noise in a City that just earlier had been told it was getting WrestleMania next yearThe New Orleans crowd reacted to the finish like they'd just been told WWE had changed their mind and were taking it back to Vegas instead. Minutes into the mundane battle, a rebadged Street Profits decked all four as part of their ongoing war against the division writ large.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins' beatdown was the best bit, and triggered the Motor City Machine Guns - yet another act that no longer generated reactions from the crowd - to run in and take a beating too. An eventual showdown between the feuding duos on SmackDown controversially never made the WrestleMania card two months later, but based on this booking, it never really stood a chance.
