8 Wrestlers Steve Austin Refused To Lose Against

6. Kane

This one, if true, is certainly a strange one. Certain reports claim that Steve Austin refused to lose cleanly to Kane at the 1998 King of the Ring PPV, but whether that is the case or not is not completely known. Forget the recent incarnations of the Big Red Machine, this was a Kane who still had the mystique and draw of a genuine monstrous threat. In fact, this was a Kane that Austin would actually put over at certain points in time. This was a Kane who many actually wanted to see as the WWF Champion and as a constant main event presence. So, for Austin not to want to lose clearly to the Devil€™s Favourite Demon at this stage of the game was a head-scratcher. Supposedly the initial KORT €™98 plan was for Kane to defeat Austin in a straightforward singles match, but Stone Cold didn€™t like the idea of that or even the idea of losing the WWF Title at all. As such, the €˜First Blood€™ stipulation was added so that Kane could get a shady win over Austin at the PPV before he then dropped the belt back to Austin the following night. Despite this story having come out of certain insider reports and interviews, of all of the entries on this list this is the one that seems the most dubious.
