8 Wrestlers To Carry NXT Over The Next Year
7. Roderick Strong
A slight tease with Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: New York could provoke the split of The Undisputed Era.
Roderick is an elite singles competitor; he was before joining the stable, and will be after leaving them.
His run in The Undisputed Era was an unexpected twist in the story of Strong. He was a singles competitor up against the odds, so joined up with Pete Dunne to take on the then trio of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. He subsequently turned on ‘The Bruiserweight’ and joined his rivals.
After a solid year for the group, a split could develop one of two ways. Strong could become the leader of The Undisputed Era or the lone gunslinger out to bring them down.
Cole has consistently been a heel, with way more loses than wins. This could be the spark that leads to the split. The current leader is ready for the main roster, and it is just a matter of time until he receives the call.
After a feud with Cole, he will likely defeat the trio, then move on to chasing the NXT Championship.
