8 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Promotion

4. Cage - WWE

Cage currently gets his major spotlight in Lucha Underground, walking around telling folk that they call him Cage and how he is a machine. It's difficult to disagree with the man, and not just because if you did there's a chance he would eat you alive. The man is built like the demented drawings of a child drawing a muscleman. It's as if someone has put a mountain range to muscle. He's really muscular, OK? The equally scary thing about Cage is what he can do in the ring. He is quick, agile and athletic as all hell. Not just 'quick for his size', either, but quick full stop. It gives what he does an extra snap and an added intensity, making Cage look more like a threat (as if he needed any help there in the first place). The overarching feeling with Cage is just how suited to WWE he seems. He has the build of a larger than life character, something that WWE historically has gravitated towards and he also has the ability to get the job done from bell to bell inside the ring, which is where NXT is moving these days. His promos are delightfully old-school as well, eschewing subtlety in favour of 'look at me, I will fight you'. It is endearingly refreshing. Cage and WWE just look like a match made in heaven.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
