8 Wrestlers Who Broke All The Rules

2. Orange Cassidy - The Wrestler Who Can't Be Bothered To Wrestle

A wrestler who doesn't wrestle? That was the initial baffled thought of casual viewers upon seeing Orange Cassidy debut in All Elite Wrestling.

Of course, those who were familiar with Cassidy's previous work - in particular for Freshly Squeezed's time as Fire Ant in Chikara - knew that Orange was a hell of a worker..

By the very definition of it being a competitive contest, professional wrestling is based around wanting to win a match. And to do that, you obviously need enthusiasm and at least enough gusto to be bothered to launch proper offense on an opponent. Not our boy Orange, for his whole shtick is that he usually couldn't give a solitary sh*t about anything should it require even a modicum of effort.

Hailing from wherever, weighing in at whatever, the general presentation of Orange Cassidy is of a pro wrestler who really cannot be bothered to wrestle - as shown by the hands in his pockets, the half-assed shin kicks, and the fact that Cassidy can't even muster the effort to take his sunglasses off.

Orange Cassidy goes against so many wrestling rules, yet it's in taking that approach that has helped Orange stand out from the pack. Plus, y'know, he can put on a ridiculously entertaining, competitive match when the time calls for it.
