5. Al Snow

Though he was never a world champion, Al Snow proved himself more than capable of eliciting a reaction from the crowd while performing under several different personas during his time in WWE, including his iconic run with Head during the Attitude Era.

However, Snow's first mainstream exposure (not under a mask, anyway) in WWE saw him christened as Leif Cassidy and partnering with Marty Jannetty to form the New Rockers. If it isn't already clear, any reboot in wrestling that is prefaced with the word new is almost always destined to fail and the New Rockers were no different, leading to Snow's departure in 1997.

Unsurprisingly, Snow elected not to continue his career as Cassidy, the lesser-known partner of a lesser-known partner, and after signing with ECW began to develop the character that he would eventually be forever associated with.
