8 Wrestlers Who Do The Same Weirdly Specific Spots Over And Over

3. Batista Fails To Execute A Proper Spear

Okay, so this is less about him doing an oddly specific spot and more about his terrible execution of a widely-used move. But please, just go along with it for a minute... For anyone who grew up watching WCW in the 90s, there are obviously two varieties of the diving shoulder tackle. There's Goldberg's harsh, pulverizing Spear, and then there's everyone else's lackluster version (with the possible exception of Rhyno's Gore). The worst of the bunch, by a significant margin, is Batista. Dave Batista had zero success with the Spear and yet, for some reason, the guy just wouldn't stop doing it. You could hypothetically call it a signature move, but only if that signature came from an alcoholic with Parkinson's. Less a diving shoulder tackle than a tripping head bump to the midsection, Batista used what can only tangentially be referred to as "a spear" sporadically throughout his career, and it only seemed to get worse and worse the more he used it. But dude was going to do it regardless.
