8 Wrestlers Who Must Be Involved With IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown
1. Awesome Kong
Yes, Awesome Kong announced her retirement at NWA Empowerrr.
One final IMPACT appearance is required, though, as she must now be inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.
While IMPACT traditionally announces their annual Hall of Fame inductee(s) around the time of the Slammiversary pay-per-view in the summer, perhaps they held off on it for a reason. Maybe they'd heard of Kong's plans to hang up her boots, and so waited for an event like Knockouts Knockdown to honor the knockouts of the past, placing at least one of them in the Hall of Fame.
At present, only Gail Kim represents the knockouts division in the Hall of Fame, which only makes Kong's induction more apt. The two had been tied at the hip since the instalment of the Knockouts Title, with their wars over the title in its early history setting the bar for Knockouts Title matches.
With Kim essentially as the face of this operation, having her announce the former Nightmare Collective member as the Hall of Fame's newest member would act as a surreal moment on what is already looking like a pivotal evening for the knockouts division, though the less said about the Nightmare Collective, the better.
