8 Wrestlers Who Predicted Their Own Deaths
3. Vader
Vader was a colossus in wrestling. He enjoyed success in the Japanese wrestling scene before becoming one of WCW's top stars. He continued to wrestle for many years after departing the WWF in 1998, back in Japan, TNA and various independent promotions across the United States. The Mastodon even had a match as recently as 2016 against Will Ospreay, of all people, for Revolution Pro Wrestling in the United Kingdom.
Vader lost his long battle with congestive heart failure at 63 in 2018. His son Jake Carter shared a touching note about his father’s untimely death on Twitter: ‘Around a month ago my father was diagnosed with a severe case of Pneumonia. He fought extremely hard and clinically was making progress. Unfortunately, on Monday night his heart had enough and it was his time’.
Vader spoke of his heart condition in the past, even predicting his death in 2016, tweeting: ‘Told by 2.heart Drs at this time that my heart is wore out from football & wrestling I have 2 yrs to live , congestive heart failure reality’.
