8 Wrestlers With Gimmicks Ripped Off From Comics

7. Alexa Bliss (Harley Quinn)

It'd be easy to dismiss Alexa Bliss' decision to dress up as Batman character Harley Quinn at Backlash 2016 as mere cosplay. After all, she'd worn outfits inspired by Freddy Krueger and Iron Man before. This was something different though, because Alexa's twisted character emulated The Joker's psychotic girlfriend.

The idea was one Alexa could easily have kept going after her six-way match on the show. It fit her gimmick anyway.

A cold-hearted bitch who likes to use false cuteness to lure in victims, Harley Quinn is also a deceptively super-smart woman who doesn't necessarily need men to be powerful. That suits Bliss, and it also fits snugly into WWE's decision to elevate female athletes above simple eye candy.

There's a manipulative quality to Bliss as a character, one that makes her more like Quinn than some may think. Even without the dyed bunches in her hair, Alexa has shown that devious side in feuds against Nia Jax by claiming she is the one being bullied despite being the clear antagonist.
