8 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Wrestled On All In
1. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio wrestling at All In is one of those weird "Oh yeah, that's a thing that actually happened" moments in professional wrestling.
Teaming with Bandido and Rey Fenix to battle Kota Ibushi and the Young Bucks, Mysterio's work was somewhat limited in the match. While he did have a decent showing, the highlights of the main event were largely restricted to just the other five combatants. It made sense, of course; Rey isn't what he used to be. Decent glimpses opposite Ibushi aside, the match was more about propelling Bandido and Fenix to the next level rather than allowing Rey too long to shine.
It worked to such a seismic extent. Bandido, as mentioned in the opening entry, came away from the match with this new aura surrounding him. Fenix, though already an established credible talent, left Chicago with a plethora of new followers.
Rey Mysterio played his legend's role well while still wrestling the same style, albeit down a notch. It acted as an apt penultimate independent match - his final coming the next day for Warrior Wrestling - before he embarked on another full-time venture in WWE. He'd done such an elegant job working the indies that a return to Vince McMahon's empire was inevitable.
All In played a huge role in this.
