5. Michael Cole Taunts Jerry Lawler's Mother

There's really nothing good about the entire Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole feud that took up far too much of 2010 and 2011. The commentators had a stinker of a match at WrestleMania XXVII, and don't even mention the Kiss My Foot match at Over The Limit later that year.

In among all the rubbish and overbooked nonsense, Lawler's mother passed away during the build to WrestleMania, leaving their feud in doubt as the King rightly took some time off. Being the professional that he is though, Lawler was quickly back in the hot seat, running commentary and battling Cole at every turn.

At Elimination Chamber, Lawler was unsuccessful in defeating The Miz for the WWE Championship, so the next night on Raw, Cole used this as ammunition to attack The King.

Cole went full on s**tbag heel on Lawler, telling him that his mother had the best seat in the house to see him lose to The Miz. He even asked him how it made him feel knowing that he'd let his deceased mother down.

The crowd ate it up immediately, booing Cole out of the building as he ran The King down.

Lawler had stated soon after his mother passed how professional The Miz and Cole were backstage on a personal level, both saying they didn't want to use the situation for cheap heat during their running feuds.

It would appear that Cole was overruled.
