8 Wrestling Champions That Left For The Other Side

8. Meng As WCW Hardcore Champion To WWE

Meng worked for both WWE and WCW in his career. When he started in WWE in the mid 1980s he was known as King Tonga and then he became Haku. His most famous runs were when he was King Haku as well as when he teamed up with Andre the Giant. He went to WCW in 1994 as Meng. His role in WCW was that of a tough midcard wrestler that had a reputation as one of the legitimate badasses in the business. There are all kinds of stories about Meng as somebody you never wanted to mess with. He won the WCW Hardcore Title, his only title in seven years in the company, at the Sin PPV in January 2001. Apparently his contract was up because one week after he won the Hardcore Title he was in the 2001 Royal Rumble and back in WWE as Haku. He probably saw the writing on the wall for WCW, so he got out when he could. Haku's WWE return didn't last that long because he was in his early 40s by that point. Still, it was a cool moment to see him back in a WWE ring. He even received a nice ovation for his return too.
