Tazz's WWE career, at least the wrestling portion of it, isn't really remembered for much. His debut match with Kurt Angle was pretty exciting - while it lasted - but apart from that we're kind of scraping the barrel.

One thing that fans have kept with them, however, are his occasional allusions to Joey Numbers, an unseen figure the former ECW star would credit once or twice with helping him get a hold of special inside wrestling scoops.

But this guy, whomever he was, never made it on-screen for real. Mounting injuries soon meant that Tazz was sitting beside Michael Cole on the SmackDown commentary desk, where he had little utility for an advice-giving mystery man.

One theory that has refused to go away is that Joey Numbers could, in fact, have referred to ECW commentator Joey Styles, of whom Tazz would eventually become a colleague after the brand's reboot in 2006. That almost seems too obvious though.
