8 Wrestling Matches That Ended Before They Were Meant To

4. Dean Malenko Vs. Billy Kidman (WCW Souled Out 2000)

In his final WCW match ever, Dean Malenko forgot the rules.

Opening up the promotion's Souled Out 2000 pay-per-view with Billy Kidman, Malenko was slated to work a "Catch-As-Catch-Can" style bout. It'd be Kidman's first (of three) that evening, so maybe Deano believed Billy deserved more time between matches. Either that or nobody had told him backstage he couldn't leave the ring.

That kind of disorganisation is believable in a company as chaotic as WCW. Malenko's face said it all when, after slipping away from barrage of Kidman punches, he watched referee Charles Robinson throw the match out. Dean had left the ring, and that meant he was the loser. For their part, fans in Cincinnati didn't seem to know what was going on either.

The opener was a mess, confused everybody watching and Malenko soon left for the greener pastures of the WWF. It was almost like he couldn't wait to go, and who could blame him? Even so, he has to take some of the blame for the premature finish.
