8 Wrestling Rumours & Reactions (July 21): WWE Targeting ROH?
3. TNA Changing Talent Contracts
Newsworthy Bite: TNA originally paid their wrestlers per appearance along with a monthly fee that was guaranteed. Now that guarantee is gone, and they are simply paying per appearance. Their per appearance rate is going to go up slightly, but not having that monthly money has worried some talent. If TNA is able to book more shows/tours than talent could actually make more, but if they aren't booked obviously there will be no money.
Reaction: TNA is the equivalent of a zombie, will they ever die? With their Destination America TV contract up in the air, both talent and executives jumping ship it's a wonder how they can even keep going. For wrestlers who work a lot, these contract changes aren't a huge deal, but those that are on and off will suffer from that loss of pay. From a wrestling fan's perspective, between WWE, NXT, Lucha Underground, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Ring of Honor I simply have no time to get invested in TNA.
