8 Wrestling Title Reigns That Officially Never Happened

You won't find these listed in the history books.

Title reigns in professional wrestling and sports entertainment aren't quite what they used to be. Multiple weekly television programs, bigger rosters, monthly pay-per-view events, and other factors have eliminated the days of title reigns lasting years on end. Instead, the climax of a storyline often occurs when the superstar finally reaches the pinnacle of the company, and winning a title, with plenty left to be desired in the subsequent title reign. What about those wrestlers who did reach that paramount, who did climb to the top, but had it ripped away from them? Some you may know about, others you may not. Some were able to overcome disappointment in having their championship victories taken from them, and make their way back to the top. Others weren't so fortunate, and had a possible career defining moment swept under the rug, often never (or rarely) talked about again. We'll take a look at some of these title reigns, how they happened, and why they didn't go down in the record books as official championship victories.
