8 Wrestling Title Reigns That Officially Never Happened

8. Kurt Angle - NWA World Champion?

Kurt Angle is possibly the most decorated wrestler of all time. His achievements in the NCAA and the Olympics were matched by his insane resume as a professional wrestler. After winning five world titles in the WWE, Angle made the jump to TNA Wrestling in 2006. TNA, who was still affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance. However, on May 13, 2007, that all changed. The NWA and TNA parted ways that afternoon, which happened to be the day of TNA's pay-per-view, Sacrifice. Despite the split, the NWA title was still defended in the main event, which saw Angle victorious, holding the NWA title above his head. However, the NWA didn't recognized the title change, revoked the result. The company had vacated the title, held by Christian Cage, earlier in the day.
