8 Wrestling Title Reigns That Officially Never Happened

1. Lex Luger And The WWF Title

Man, this one was confusing. After co-winning the 1994 Royal Rumble match with Bret Hart, Lex Luger was given a WWF title match against current champion Yokozuna at WrestleMania X. However, during a February 22 television taping, Luger showed up to the ring wearing the WWF title, leading many to think he'd win the title at WrestleMania, as WWE had been known to tape well ahead (although rarely, if ever, before WrestleMania). In actuality, Luger had taken the title from Jim Cornette at the previous taping, but that didn't prevent rumors from swirling, or speculation to run wild. Ultimately Luger wouldn't win the title, coming up short in his match against Yokozuna just weeks later, derailing the "Lex Express."
Luger would go on to leave the WWF for WCW in 1995, where he would go on to finish off a great career, including a WCW title win in 1997. However, those in attendance in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania may still remember Lex Luger's WWF title reign that wasn't.
