8 WWE Booking Steps For Goldberg After Brock Lesnar Squash
3. Making The Match
Goldberg is fuming, and when Raw hits the airwaves the following evening, he’s quick to make his presence felt. In the ring, Goldberg demands Brock Lesnar answers for his actions, and he once again demands that Stephanie and Foley lift the suspension so that he and the Beast can finally settle their differences.
The authority figures emerge, but they’re reluctant. They’ve seen first-hand the chaos that Lesnar and Goldberg create, and they don’t really want anything to do with it. Just when it looks like they’re about to deny Goldberg’s request, however, here comes Paul Heyman, who was never officially suspended in the first place.
Heyman’s in jovial spirits after the Rumble, and with Mick and Steph as security, he openly mocks Goldberg’s anger. When it comes down to it, however, Lesnar is just as desperate for one last match between the two, and Heyman echoes Goldberg’s demands. With both men (and the crowd) piling the pressure on, Foley eventually relents, announces that Lesnar’s suspension will be lifted, and that Goldberg and Lesnar’s final showdown will take place at WrestleMania 33.
