Ah, this was a bad idea both times, right? The Road Warriors are arguably the most iconic tag team in the history of professional wrestling, a face-painted duo that wrecked shop and left bodies laying all over the United States of America and Japan. They won titles and revolutionised the way the audience interpreted tag team wrestling. When it comes to listing tag teams in history, Animal and Hawk come first more often than not.

Despite this, the Legion of Doom never seemed to take off in the WWF. They experienced success of course, but looking back they underachieved somewhat. Maybe this is what led to the two reboots of the Legion of Doom, as LOD 2000 and LOD 2005. Fans will have their own opinions on which was worse, with this writer plumping for LOD 2000.

You see, Hawk was in need of serious help by this point, and his personal issues were allowed to play out on camera for some insane reason. Darren Drozdov, known as Puke at the time, replaced Hawk in the team, in what was a depressing time for all LOD fans.

LOD 2005 should never have happened, as Heidenreich is one of the all-time worst WWE wrestlers. Still, he came across as a child during the run, and you can't hate children.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
