Let's be honest, the various reboots of D-Generation X over the years have happened for one reason and one reason only; merchandise. I mean just look at any photo of Shawn Michaels and Triple H in either of the D-Generation X reboots in 2006 and 2009. They are the wrestling equivalent of those guys that hold the boards telling you to go to Pizza Hut, whilst wearing a Pizza Hut hat, a Pizza Hut shirt and Pizza Hut sunglasses.

If we take them completely in canon, this sort of spat on the entire point of D-Generation X. Once a group of young, hungry, rebellious anarchists, DX was reduced to shilling glow-sticks and hugging Bob Barker. Now, if this was some strange attempt to create an anti-DX in a fascinating story of inner turmoil and identity crisis with age then all power to them, but was it?

No, it was Little People's Court, squashing younger opponents and HEY BUY THIS HAT.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
