8 WWE Stars Who Should Consider Retiring In 2015

7. Rey Mysterio

The last time Rey Mysterio appeared on WWE television was April 7, 2014 on the Raw that took place after WrestleMania 30. He wrestled for most of January where he was booed for not being Daniel Bryan in the Royal Rumble. He was also there for a bit of February, none of March and just two matches in April. He's going to turn 40 years old this December. What's in his future? It's really hard to say. There have been reports in recent months saying that Mysterio was so upset with things in WWE that he wasn't cashing checks while WWE wants to extend his contract even though he's not even working. They feel that because he's missed so much time this year as well as the past few years that he owes them more time in the ring. His heart apparently is set on leaving WWE and going to AAA in Mexico where his buddy Konnan has a lot of influence. Due to all the knee injuries he's suffered because of his high risk style (he claims to have no ligaments in his knees anymore), we may never see him in a WWE ring again. If he does move on from WWE he might not last in AAA or anywhere else very long just because of all the injuries. Leaving WWE could also really hurt his status post retirement if it's handled in an unprofessional way. Mysterio's a candidate to retire because his interest in coming back to WWE isn't there and it feels like WWE has little interest in giving him a push. When guys are pushed their whole careers and then it stops, that's a big blow to their ego. That's what Mysterio is going through. What he's also likely thinking about it is whether or not it's time to call it a career. Next year may be his last.
