8 WWE Stars That Need To Be Repackaged In 2015

6. The New Day

Remember in the opening of this article, when Vince's love of dancing black guys was referenced? Get ready for more of that Admittedly, this one is a victim of circumstance more than anything else. When the seeds of The New Day were first planted, the three men appeared to be heading in a much more interesting direction. Kofi Kingston and Big E, both on losing streaks, were approached by a massively restyled and newly charismatic Xavier Woods, who told them to seize opportunities "by any means necessary". So it was a Malcolm X theme we were going with, which would have used its thinly veiled commentary on race as a means to advance their standing. And the angry tone invoked by Woods seemed to indicate that the stable would be heels, which would have been a fresh career shakeup for all three. Unfortunately, this angle was crippled by the Ferguson Riots in Missouri that happened in August, where racial tension was an underlying issue between the police and the local African-American community. Being a corporate company, WWE duly crapped its pants and wussed out on the gimmick, forcing them to hastily repackage the newly titled New Day. And when in doubt, Vince climbed back into his safety blanket of dancing black guys, and now they're all extremely positive gospel singing babyfaces in blue. Now all three men are talented enough to carry such a gimmick, but what it lacks is motivation. To put it simply, they don't have any, which makes them hard to cheer for. As well as this, it raises the question of can it work in modern day WWE. Bo Dallas is over-the-top positive, and WWE use that to make him a heel, but somehow The New Day can be faces for precisely the same thing?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C79JAPfTyKU The stable doesn't need a massive overhaul, just a minor tweak to explain what they're all about. As it is at the moment, the audience is rejecting it wholesale. Still, it could be worse, and we should all be grateful that they're not singing about how they been done seen about everything when they see a elephant fly.
