8 WWE SummerSlam 2018 Nightmares That Could Come True
3. The WWE Title Match Is Too Short
Nightmare: A first-time WWE pay-per-view showdown between former TNA stalwarts AJ Styles and Samoa Joe is only given around 10 minutes of a four/five hour long show. It'd be a nightmare for both to see their natural chemistry overlooked in favour of giving other, lesser matches (in-ring, at least) more minutes.
Chances Of It Coming True: Hmm, we're on the fence about this one, because it'd be very counterproductive of WWE to use a match of this quality as filler.
The best spot fort AJ and Joe may be as the opener. Then, they're probably guaranteed somewhere north of 15 minutes to work with, and might be handed as much as 20-25. One thing's for sure here: WWE must not view this as secondary to the Universal Title situation even if it happens earlier on the card.
Joe's promos have been so strong, and Styles is so over as a champion babyface, that they deserve to tear the house down on WWE's second-biggest pay-per-view of the year. Fingers crossed those laying out the schedule don't dismiss what AJ and Joe could achieve with time.
