8 WWE SummerSlam 2018 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. Paul Heyman Overshadows The Universal Title Match

Nightmare: Paul Heyman potentially being banished from his meal ticket's side and having to find new clients to gloat about is one of the most potentially-fascinating stories WWE could have on their hands in 2018. Still, the timing is a little off.

This has been painted (at some points and not at others, oddly) as Roman Reigns' final shot at Brock Lesnar. It's a bit sudden then for the writers to push the Heyman story over that angle so close to the match itself. What if the tale of a possible break up between manager and "Beast" ends up completely overshadowing the fact Reigns is chasing someone he dubbed a part-timer?

Chances Of It Coming True: In some respects, it already has.

Reigns vs. Lesnar has been done to death already, and the visual of Brock rag-dolling Heyman around on Raw was a powerful, fresh one. Come bell time at SummerSlam, most minds will be dreaming up scenarios like Heyman costing Lesnar the title, aligning with Reigns (the least likely, in fairness) or revealing the whole thing was an elaborate plan to trick Roman.

Even if Heyman later tells how Reigns that it was "him all along", he'll have overshadowed SummerSlam's main event and topped the previous story of Roman feeling Brock was ducking him.
