Charlie Haas debuted as a pro way back in 1996, teaming with his brother Russ. The two were signed to a WWE developmental deal in 2000 but, sadly, Russ died of a heart attack in December 2001. The Haas brothers had been working house shows and dark matches before the tragedy and it had looked like the plan was to bring the duo up to television shortly.

The graduate of Seaton Hall University would be brought up a little over a year later, as a member of Team Angle. He was paired up with another amateur standout, Shelton Benjamin, and wrestled in place of leader Kurt while the Olympic gold medalist recovered from injuries.

Once Angle turned babyface, Shelton and Charlie split and went out on their own, re-christening themselves The World's Greatest Tag Team. The team were getting better every week and put on some great matches in 2003/04, but were split up when Shelton was drafted to Raw in March 2004.

Charlie floundered for a while before he was put into a tag team with first Rico and then Hardcore Holly. Both were perfectly fine midcard acts but WWE released Haas in July 2005, due to budget cuts. They brought him back in April 2006, tag teaming with Viscera of all people, before easing back into his old team with Benjamin.

They broke up once more in November 2007 when Shelton was drafted to ECW and Charlie floundered, eventually doing a gimmick where he parodied other wrestlers (Haas Hogan, anyone?). That went nowhere and, after months of not doing anything, Haas was released in February 2010.

Haas was a good, solid worker but completely unremarkable in many respects. He was a great tag wrestler and enjoyed his best years (early 2003 - mid 2004) when teaming with Benjamin, but when he was left to his own devices, he failed to get over and make an impression.
