9 Awesome Things We Learned From "Nine Legends"

7. Ted DiBiase Was Originally Booked To Go Over Savage At Wrestlemania IV

The Million Dollar Man's interview is surprisingly confessional, though perhaps that should be expected from a man who, since leaving wrestling, has become an ordained minister. DiBiase speaks at great lengths about the numerous acts of adultery he committed against his wife while on the road and how close he came to losing his family because of it. He talks about the constant travelling from town to town, the fact that wrestler's families never knew 'the real them' and how the majority of his co-workers played away from home. DiBiase even goes as far as to say that he was addicted to sex. From there, the Million Dollar Man goes on to describe his salvation, probably the most famous case of a wrestler pronouncing himself saved, except perhaps for Shawn Michaels. Rather than focus entirely on his woes and redemption, DiBiase also mentions a number of other topics, including how they set up making the little boy with the basketball cry, one of the most infamous acts of heeling in all of pro wrestling. https://youtu.be/T0RVJQrYvSA?t=155 He also talks about the WWF Championship Tournament at WrestleMania IV and how, apparently, he was originally slated to go over Savage and win the belt. He cites backstage politicking, particularly from Savage and The Honky Tonk Man, as reasons that the decision was reversed and The Macho Man walked away with the title.
