9 Big TNA Changes Billy Corgan Must Make

3. No More Dixie

Dixie Carter has been the owner—and the face—of a largely bad wresting promotion over the past 14 years. She went years without showing up on TV, but once she got that taste of being in front of a live crowd, she became as overexposed as the McMahon family.

These days she’s dialed back her role a bit, but she’s still on way too much. Every week she finds an excuse to show up, and then she does her thing. Her thing, though, isn’t very good. Dixie can’t cut a great promo, she doesn’t have charisma and she doesn’t have an aura of power about her like Vince McMahon. If she left the show entirely, no one would be itching for her return.

Looking at the other authority type on Impact, Billy Corgan is famous outside of wrestling, so if he wants to show up now and then to book big matches or get involved in the occasional angle, that’s fine. But he’s becoming dangerously over-played right now too. His first few months in the company he was only seen in cameos, now he has the bug.

And it’s not just that he’s on TV, it’s that we don’t know what he is...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
