9 Big TNA Changes Billy Corgan Must Make

4. Re-Ignite The Tag Division

Yes, it’s another division that needs fixing here.

The heavyweight division is solid in TNA, but everything else is in shambles, and a shadow of what they once were. The company has had some great teams in the past like America’s Most Wanted, Beer Money, L.A.X., The Motor City Machine Guns and Triple X. Right now there’s Decay, The Tribunal, The Hardys and The Bromans. Basically two less teams than there are on SmackDown.

The problem shouldn’t be too hard to fix. He can bring in indy talent to fill out the ranks (ROH’s War Machine, reDRagon or The Young Bucks would be great additions when they’re free), or simply start taking underutilized roster members, and joining a few of them together to give the division some depth. See which guys have chemistry together, and go from there.

It takes time to build a great tag team, but this is another area where the company could pretty easily one-up WWE in no time. Besides The New Day, and American Alpha, none of the other teams in the entire company are particularly over.

While it’s fun watching The Hardy brothers doing what they’re doing, they’re far from enough to help the division reach its glory days. Much like the two revolutionized tag teams in the late 90s, they need new, young talent to battle. Otherwise, tag titles in a four team division feels rather pointless.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
