9 Biggest Opportunities WWE Missed At Wrestlemania 32

6. Starting The "Women's Division" Right

WrestleMania 32. A Diva's Champion walks in, a Women's Champion walks out. It really could have been that simple.

First of all, allow me to take a moment to applaud WWE for taking this step with the division. Total Divas might be floundering, but the strength of its brand is so ingrained in the company that taking the in-ring action in an entirely different route isn't an easy business decision to make. It's as surprising as it is commendable that they've chosen their biggest PPV to remove their heads from the sand.

But marketing 101 tells you that when you enact change, you can't do it by halves. Charlotte's a wonderful performer, and one of the best heel champions going, but every single title defence has followed the same pattern. Great exchanges, exciting spots, and a wonderful ending ruined by interference from a man who looks like a turtle made of leather purses.

They even did the best imaginable finish at one point. Already paying tribute to El Paso's own Eddie Guerrero, Banks ascended the top rope as Charlotte locked the Figure Four in (she didn't make the bridge for the Figure Eight, before you launch into the comments). The crowd rose to their feet and Banks launched off into a Frog Splash, connecting perfectly on the champion. The pop was massive, but imagine if it had been followed by a 3 count. Tears, euphoria, change. Legit WrestleMania moment.

Instead, we got the same old finish, and the start of the Women's Division feels, for the time being at least, like merely an aesthetic change to the Divas. We got a great match, don't get me wrong, but we'd have got that irrespective of the rebranding.
