The WWE Network is an absolute goldmine when it comes to the most cringeworthy moments in wrestling history; the on demand service acts at times like an open apology from WWE, because there's no way most of this stuff could be considered a good idea in 2017.

Every wrestling fan has experienced those moments when non-fans look at them, raise an eyebrow and ask that oh-so dreaded question. "Why do you watch this stuff?", those innocent voices ask, almost as though a love of wrestling requires some intense psychological evaluation.

It's only when trawling through many of the awkward occasions wrestling has thrown up that such questioning begins to become pertinent; worse, all of these memories are saved forever on the WWE Network, indelibly etched into the annals of time.

Absolutely everything listed here makes for essential viewing to those who haven't had the pleasure - even just so you know why those non-wrestling fan friends look at you so curiously.

Lock yourself in a dark room, away from those puzzled glances, and reacquaint yourself with some of the Network's most embarrassing moments...

9. The Glory Of The Shockmaster

How could any list looking at the most cringeworthy moments on the WWE Network be complete without The Shockmaster?

Poor Fred Ottman will forever go down in wrestling history for his unforgettably awful WCW debut, but he's not the only one to blame here; it shouldn't be forgotten that WCW's top brass were willing to let a mystical new babyface burst through a wall wearing little more than a glitzy Stormtrooper helmet, ghastly robe and a standard pair of Levi jeans.

Even if Ottman hadn't fallen over upon breaking the wall, he would have been laughed at for sporting the worst Halloween costume of 1993. that should never be overlooked.

It's absolutely essential that every fan checks out Clash Of The Champions XXIV, solely to see The Shockmaster make a complete prat of himself and instantly become WCW's resident bumbling fool. Shortly after this crappy debut, the unfortunate Ottman was repackaged as 'Uncle Fred', literally cast as an idiot.

Behold the full glory of The Shockmaster, and witness one of wrestling's most mortifying moments time and time again.
