9 Current TNA Talent That Were In WWE NXT
7. Tyrus
It was apparent from the moment he debuted in NXT in December 2010 that Brodus Clay was destined to be a breakout heel. Although he didn't win the competition, coming up short against Johnny Curtis (a.k.a. Fandango), he cut a tremendous promo on the season finale that convinced officials to keep him around as a member of the main roster.
He was in the process of being built back up as a monster heel, and when it came time for him to return to Raw, he was reintroduced as a dancing dinosaur. Admittedly, the character could have had some longevity had it been fleshed it out a bit more and was given direction, but instead, he was largely a comedy act.
By the time he finally turned heel again at the end of 2013, fans couldn't have cared less, and his feud with Xavier Woods was a waste of time. WWE tried one last time to make him mean something by having him return to his NXT roots in 2014 for a short program with Neville over the NXT Championship, but he was gone from the company shortly thereafter.
Clay, now known as Tyrus, is still trying to find his footing in TNA on his own, but it might be only a matter of time before he shows fans what he is truly capable of.
