9 Exact Moments TNA Booking Stopped Making Sense

2. Hulk Hogan Is In The Building! But Whose Side Is He On?!

The omnishambles left behind by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's time with TNA took years to clean up, not least because of the aforementioned lost trust that was in tatters by the time the pair finally departed the Impact Zone.

Everybody should have seen it coming from night one.

The January 4th 2010 edition of Impact was promoted - and to some extent booked - like a big bang for the company, but it wouldn't be TNA without blowing more up while attempting to make everything feel brand spanking new. 'The Hulkster' rather forebodingly led from the front in this regard

His arrival itself was botched when cameras showed him en route in the first hour before his promo revealed he'd been speaking to the folks in the back all day. His allegiance with Bischoff was fraught with continuity confusion thanks to 'Easy E' siding with heels while Hogan spoke the big game about helping the young guys. Speaking of young guys, Hulk's interactions with his former nWo colleagues and Jeff Jarrett went from odd to downright unworkable.

Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman were positioned as leeches, but went on to have an extended run as The Band including but not limited to them beating up half the roster on this very episode and later winning tag team gold. 'Double J', meanwhile had been a company-forward babyface when Hogan joined, but was shouted down and blamed for the company's apparent failings by fellow (?) babyface Hulk on Night One. Naturally, the two were revealed to be in cahoots when the company tore the whole thing up in their 10/10/10 nWo-lite retread twist ending at Bound For Glory later that year.
