The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Of Hulk Hogan's Wrestling Career

The Bad

5. Hogan’s TNA Run

As monumental as Hulk Hogan’s contributions to professional wrestling were, he also had some truly questionable, negative and even downright damaging actions through the years.

In 2009, Hogan joined TNA, then WWE’s sole competition, though they were a distant second in the wrestling landscape. Almost immediately, he made his mark on the company, albeit in a dubious manner. He first appeared on an episode of Impact! that competed with WWE Raw in January 2010, effectively restarting the Monday Night wars. That would bomb and TNA would retreat.

Hogan (along with Eric Bischoff) pushed through other unpopular decisions, such as getting rid of the six-sided ring, giving his daughter a prominent role, and signing a few of Hulk’s buddies who were well past their prime. His run lasted a little more than three years before he quit (in kayfabe) and left while TNA owner Dixie Carter groveled at his feet.

Before Hogan came to TNA, it had been gaining momentum and was carving out a niche for itself. By the time he left, no one was going to mistake TNA as a company that could compete with WWE.
