3. Kevin Greene
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uxeo7ObZSA There's no denying that a lot of football players have found success as pro wrestlers. The Rock, Goldberg, and Roman Reigns all made the jump and went on to become huge stars. In the 90s a couple of football players, Steve McMichael and Kevin Greene (one of whom was still active in the NFL), decided to try their hand at pro-wrestling and received offers from WCW. While McMichael's football days were behind him, Greene was still making tackles on the gridiron and would continue to do so until after the 1999 season. Greene originally debuted as the partner of McMichael, then feuded with him until the pair split. After being off TV for a while, in 1998 he returned and partnered up with Goldberg to take on the nWo. His gimmick... well, it was basically that he was an NFL guy. Not that he came to the ring in full football gear, just that people knew who he was, and WCW was happy to cash-in on his sports status. In short, it wasn't a gimmick at all, really. There was also one other problem in that the NFL wasn't exactly happy about an active player moonlighting as a pro wrestler, and had to create a "no wrestling" clause in player contracts to put a stop to it. That ended the Kevine Greene experiment and his NFL career would finish up soon after.
