9 Huge Problems With Big Show Vs Shaquille O'Neal At WWE WrestleMania 33
5. Neither Deserves A Marquee WrestleMania Spot
As touched on, there is not a soul in the world that could genuinely believe Shaquille O'Neal deserves a marquee WrestleMania spot. Even if he was in his prime, it would still be hot garbage and a violent slap to the face to those working multiple shows on a weekly basis.
It was silly enough to see Shaquille O'Neal participating in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but that sort of celebrity involvement is justifiable at the very least. His appearance didn't take the shine off anybody else and didn't waste a whole lot of time. Having an entire segment or a match is a completely different story.
Big Show, as great of a servant he has been to pro wrestling, is not one of the guys whose name belongs up in lights anymore. Even if the proposed match were to be treated as a farewell match - which seems unlikely given Show's stated intentions to continue wrestling beyond WrestleMania 33 - it would still be difficult to wrap your head around.
WrestleMania is a spectacle, but it's a wrestling show first and foremost, one that acts as validation for those who have dedicated themselves to excelling over a 12-month period. Show has had his fair share of WrestleMania moments already, whereas Shaq shouldn't even be in the discussion. Don't waste a top-billed spot on a celebrity appearance.
