9 HUGE WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020 Predictions You Need To Know

8. A Surprise Appearance, Possibly

Finn Bálor Karrion Kross

With two matches that will be under immense pressure to far surpass expectations and two that will be forced into following a similar pattern due to their stipulation, there's unusually quite a bit of room for a bit of extra (and potentially helpful) flavour on this show.

Fortunately for NXT, the gap in the card arrives at a time where they aren't short of characters to provide it.

Kushida has been on a tear since finally polishing off Velveteen Dream. The violent focus that's been attached to his character seemed to suggest that an NXT Championship match against Finn Bálor was forthcoming. A head-to-head between them could be gripping, if 'The Prince' isn't busy elsewhere. But more on that later.

In a tag team division seemingly on the ascent, Drake Maverick and Killian Dain were on the verge of becoming the show's most over act before The Kings Of NXT laid waste to them. Without titles to fight for, it may just be about making their presence felt, but then presumably the Grizzled Young Veterans, Imperium and an on-the-rise Ever-Rise would feel the same.

And what of Xia Li and Boa's struggles of late? What the f*ck of those, really? Nobody knows, but everybody wants to. Some sort of payoff here wouldn't just be a surprise, but an actual pleasant one. And that's the real point here - for the first time in a long time, there may be more to a TakeOver card than just the card itself.
