Corporate need, or creative?

Has this match been booked for the good of the Universal Title or The Fiend's progression through ranks as SmackDown's new Champion, or has it been booked to virtually guarantee that he'll come away from his third feud in better fettle than his second?

For reasons pored over enough either side of the disastrous Hell In A Cell battle with Seth Rollins and its passable Saudi Arabia rematch, Wyatt's new character requires a rehabilitation unlike just about any other in company history. Daniel Bryan, as per f*cking usual, could be the man to do some heavy lifting.

Unfortunately for the pair, the story centred around Bryan's refusal to be either re-embrace the Yes Movement at the expense of The New Daniel Bryan persona hasn't yet been fully told - not least in time for The Fiend to attach himself to it with anything more than an expositional backstage mandible claw.

It should be good, but it won't likely be conclusive. Neither variable particularly suits the sort of squash Wyatt still needs to get back to the level he was at in the summer.

Winner - "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
