The on-screen Savage and Miss Elizabeth relationship was certainly a rocky one. Insanely jealous, Savage would snap if anyone so much as looked at Liz the wrong way. Apparently, this was a dialled-down version of what Randy was like with his wife in real-life. Savage was even more protective of Liz away from the cameras. Many wrestlers from that era have testified that Savage would demand that Liz had her own private dressing room so that she couldn't socialize with others. He was terrified that she would run off with another wrestler. But it gets even weirder - there have also been stories of Savage locking Liz in their house from the outside when Savage went on the road. His wife would be cooped up for days at a time in their home, while Savage presumably kept tabs on her with constant phone calls. Eventually Liz had enough of the Macho Madness and filed for divorce.
