4. Triple H 2004-2005 World Heavyweight Title

By 2005, Evolution was in ruins. It€™s leader Triple H, put a death grip on the World Heavyweight Championship from 2002 until Wrestlemania 21. Eventually his true challengers came from within. In 2005, Triple H€™s reputation as a €œburial machine€ was as established as his marriage to Stephanie McMahon. Focusing on his last run here, Triple H defeated Randy Orton, after kicking him from Evolution at Unforgiven 2004, to win back the title he lost at Wrestlemania 20 to Chris Benoit. From there he defended the championship against his best friend Shawn Michaels, well after their feud had been exhausted, and in storyline focused on holding down burgeoning star, Batista. Triple H went as far as setting up an attack on Batista that looked to be by JBL in order to protect the title. When it came time to decide his Wrestlemania opponent, Batista gave HHH the same thumbs down, he gave Randy Orton, and Batista bombed The Game through a table in one of the most legendary moments of Monday Night Raw. At this point, fans in large part were done with Triple H. We saw him attempt to become 1980€™s Ric Flair to the point where he made the 16 time champion his manager, fluffed his hair like Flair€™s, and resurrected the Big Gold Belt. Mixed with Batista€™s immense charisma, and years of retaining the championship through nefarious tactics Triple H was due for a comeuppance. At WrestleMania 21, Batista ended HHH€™s reign, and HHH never held the World Heavyweight Championship again.
