9 Live Observations From WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2

7. Bobby Lashley Vs Omos

It was nice to have Bobby Lashley on the WrestleMania card.

‘The All-Mighty’ had such a strong 2021 that this time last year he was unexpectedly chosen to score a victory over heavy WWE Championship match favourite Drew McIntyre. He won the feud conclusively in fact - imagine wins and losses mattering! - and got even more over as a result.

Injury at the worst possible time almost robbed him of this, but it’s a good thing it didn’t. From a rather simplistic idea of this battle of the giants, he may now have be even more over as a top babyface than he was as a heel.

Omos, to his immense credit, was fired up for this too. He hit the ropes like he’d never done before, bumped well enough off the spears and had a quickness he’d clearly wanted to exhibit on the ‘Grandest Stage’.

He’s got a long, long way to go but he can at least claim success in one of wrestling’s most crucial areas - tonight he looked at the lights and got his opponent all the way over.
