9 Minor WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Changes That Would Make A Major Difference

6. Remove The Handicap Stipulation

Why oh why is AJ Styles defending the WWE Championship against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Handicap match?

There is absolutely no way that the heels can come out of this without looking weak. If one of them wins the title, then well done them: they beat an outnumbered individual. If they fail, they risk looking monumentally impotent.

Unless this is the next step in a story that ends with Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, this match would be better served as a straight singles bout. Zayn has picked up a couple of wins over the champion, yet a singles match for the title eludes him. AJ and Sami could have put on an excellent WWE Championship match a the Rumble, on a show that could be lacking in decent wrestling.

Even a Triple Threat match would have made more sense. As it is, any result outside of a victory for Owens and Zayn will render the Canadians useless. WWE messed up a Kevin Owens/AJ Styles feud in summer 2017, and seems to be doing the same in 2018.
