9 Most Anticlimactic Unmaskings In Wrestling History

3. Rey Mysterio Jr.

Kane Mask

Hey everybody, remember when Rey Mysterio wore horns on his head and wrestled in bib overalls, looking like he might be trying out for a reincarnation of TLC (the R&B group, not the match gimmick)?

That was all the result of Eric Bischoff and company deciding that the superhero-like gimmick of the tiny Mysterio flying around the ring and destroying dudes ten times his size would be better replaced with an actual 12-year-old in cargo pants.

In the culminating act of a throwaway feud between The Wolfpac and the LWO - a stable which, admittedly should never have existed in the first place - Bischoff decided to feature a "Hair vs. Mask" match, with Mysterio and Konnan going against Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

Obviously, Hall and Nash won the match, and Mysterio was forced to remove his mask. The entire thing was treated like a joke by The Wolfpac, with Nash even stretching the mask over his big dumb head.

Thankfully, Mysterio was able to debut in the WWE wearing the mask once again.
