9 Most Emotional WWE Raw Moments Ever

1. Every Tribute Show

The emotional highs fans get from watching wrestling are just as powerful as any that come from movies, television, or traditional sports - maybe stronger. The same goes for the lows. As wrestling fans, we've all felt the loss of beloved superstars. So many wrestlers have gone before their time, and the thread that connects all of them to us is visible in the pain we've felt at their loss. These are real men and women with real families, and millions of fans around the world have mourned them in concert with their loved ones. On three separate occasions, WWE has pre-empted regular Raw programming in order to present a tribute show for a member of the roster who died. The first came on May 24, 1999, 24 hours after Owen Hart tragically fell to his death in an accident at the Kemper Arena. On the show, matches were presented without angles or storylines, and wrestlers expressed their feelings in pre-taped interviews. It would, sadly, become a template for the situation. Eddie Guerrero shockingly passed away on November 13, 2005, the same day a special episode of Raw was to be taped on a Sunday night. Again, plans were scrapped, and wrestlers competed in tribute matches while sharing memories of Guerrero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOHgpmNj0Zw When news of the deaths of the Benoit family broke shortly before the start of Raw on June 25, 2007, something unprecedented happened - all of the fans were sent home. This time, WWE played classic Benoit matches rather than host a new event, adding the same interviews with his colleagues. Of course, as the night wore on, the details of the Benoit deaths became public, casting a grisly shadow on the tribute. Still, for pure emotion, it was a heart-wrenching night. These three episodes stand sadly as the most emotional Raws of all time.
