Once Ambrose has stated his case and made Cena, Austin and anyone else tuck into a tasty plate of their own words, there is of course the small matter of a WWE World Championship match for him to consider.

After Ambrose’s win over Cena this week, and once AJ had done his best to get the last laugh, Daniel Bryan emerged to inform the champ that he’d be defending his title rather soon than he may have thought. With Shane McMahon last week promising Ambrose a one-on-one rematch for the belt at some stage, Bryan followed through on that promise and announced the meeting for next week’s show.

Personally I’d been assuming that Ambrose’s singles rematch would come a little further down the line, probably after next month’s No Mercy pay-per-view. But with the encounter being brought forward in fairly hasty fashion, to me that suggests that AJ could be in line to retain the belt, given that he only won it two weeks ago.

On the other hand, an Ambrose win would certainly shake up the dynamic somewhat heading into that No Mercy event. Either way, a one-on-one rematch with AJ Styles is very much a pressing matter on Ambrose’s upcoming agenda.
