9 Next WWE Steps For Randy Orton
6. Survivor Series
Following No Mercy in under a fortnight’s time, the next time SmackDown stars will appear on PPV will be at Survivor Series on Nov. 20.
Now, if that sounds like quite a while away, that’s because it is. In fact, it’s a whole six weeks after No Mercy and a good seven-and-a-half weeks from now. This means that the onus for hyping the PPV (initially, at least) may fall primarily on the shoulders of the SmackDown brand, given that Raw still has its Hell in a Cell show on Oct. 30 to factor into proceedings.
In that case, it’s entirely likely that SmackDown may end up scheduling a brand-exclusive, traditional Survivor Series elimination bout, and in Orton and Wyatt we have two prime candidates to head up either team.
Not only would this afford the loser of the probable No Mercy bout a chance to redeem his defeat, but it would also be fairly straightforward from a logistical standpoint. Wyatt already has Erick Rowan on his side, while Luke Harper could also be added to the fray, meaning that one team is already pretty much accounted for.
That just leaves Orton with the task of recruiting some willing bodies, but with WWE logic dictating that all faces are pretty much best mates by default, that shouldn’t be too great an ask.
