It’s been a whirlwind few months for Seth Rollins. After a surprise return at Extreme Rules in May, the following month at Money in the Bank he defeated Roman Reigns to reclaim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the very first time of asking.

Seconds later though, the wheels began to fall off.

In the aftermath of his win over Reigns for the title, Dean Ambrose would cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase to prise the championship from Rollins’ grasp. He was then unsuccessful in four further title bouts, before just last week he was screwed by his former mentor, Triple H, to make him 0-5 in championship matches since that fateful night at Money in the Bank.

That rocky road puts him at something of a junction, with a number of potential avenues to explore as he looks to regain his mojo and, more than likely, WWE's top strap.

Today, we delve into some of those possibilities as we take a look at nine next steps for Seth Rollins after his rather eventful summer. Where does The Architect go next?

9. Babyface Run

When Rollins initially made that dramatic return in May, storming the ring at the end of Extreme Rules and hitting Roman Reigns with the Pedigree, many had been hoping that this would be the start of a babyface turn for his character.

That didn’t quite prove to be the case, but in light of Triple H’s recent betrayal and Rollins’ resultant humbling, it seems like the company may have finally decided to pull the trigger on a Rollins babyface run.

While it hasn’t necessarily been stated outright, on Raw this week he was getting firm fan-favourite reactions from the crowd, he was very much working a babyface style and, to cap it all off, he was booked against Chris Jericho, who’s anything but a good guy.

It may only have been a reactionary move in light of Finn Balor’s recent injury, but either way it seems that Rollins' most immediate next step will be to embark on a lengthy babyface run.
