9 Next WWE Steps For The Miz

Is it time for Miz to reprise a famous old feud?

Just a few months ago, The Miz was going nowhere. In fact, he wasn’t even around to defend his Intercontinental Championship. Instead, he was appearing via video packages from the set of his latest movie - The Marine 127, or whatever number it is they’re up to now.

Admittedly he’d soon return to action, entering a couple of brief feuds with Darren Young and Apollo Crews, but even then he was hardly setting the world alight.

All that changed though with an out-of-the-blue promo on Talking Smack that I’m fairly sure you’ll all have seen by now. Responding to criticism from Daniel Bryan, Miz dished out some hard-hitting words about who the real coward was, before vowing to make his Intercontinental Championship the most relevant title on the SmackDown brand.

All of a sudden, The Miz was rejuvenated, and actually living up to his braggadocios “must-see” billing.

It puts him in a fairly strong position, with plenty of options going forward, some of which we’ll be delving into today as we count down nine potential next steps for the Intercontinental Champion, The Miz.

9. Turn Down Any Movie Roles

Now, despite what you may have seen on SmackDown, I’m not saying that Miz should realistically be expecting any offers to be the next Indiana Jones. That doesn’t mean that he won’t be getting any more chances to feature in WWE Studios’ films though.

Having carved out a nice little niche for himself, Miz has now featured in more than half a dozen movies by the company's film division. That means that further opportunities may well be round the corner, and he might be tempted to push on ahead with his budding B-movie career. Of course, he really shouldn’t.

In the past few weeks, The Miz has built up some sizeable momentum and, most importantly, it’s been largely organic.

Rather than following a script on a SmackDown segment, he was allowed to improvise somewhat and deliver one of the most compelling promos of recent times in his appearance on Talking Smack. With this fresh impetus behind his character, it would be silly to let that all go to waste for the sake of a straight-to-DVD Christmas flick, or something along those lines.

For the time being, wrestling needs to be his one and only focus.
